It's silver for Terrace, at the Pee Wee Tier-Three Provincial Hockey Championships in Winfield. The Kermodes were beaten 6-4 by Castlegar, in this afternoon's final. Terrace had qualified for the gold/silver game, by edging Campbell River 4-3 in last night's semi-final... a game that saw Terrace come back from a 3-1 deficit in the third period.

Meantime in Burns Lake, it'll be Houston versus Chase for the Provincial Midget Tier Four Championship tonight (at 8). Houston edged Golden 3-2 this morning at the Tom Forsyth Arena in Burns Lake, to finish their round robin portion with 10 points, two better than Golden. The Golden team was playing without their regular goaltender, Jay LaRoy, who was injured in the opening day of the tournament Sunday. But he was on the bench this morning, cheering his team on.

In Richmond, this is day two of the Midget Female Provincials. The Houston-based opened the tournament yesterday with a 3-0 loss to Abbotsford. They were scheduled to play Meadow Ridge today.

Other northwest teams finished out of the medals at their respective tournaments. The Kitimat Bantams were 1-and-2 in Williams Lake; the Terrace Bantams finished at 2-and-2 in Castlegar; the Terrace Midgets ended up 1-and-3 in Victoria Juan de Fuca; and the Burns Lake Pee Wees won two and lost two in Clearwater.
