Renos and Riverboats!
HEY, HOW ARE YA....IT'S BEEN A WHILE SINCE I HAVE HAD THE CHANCE TO TOUCH BASE WITH YOU...BUT I COULDN'T LET THIS WEEK GO BY WITHOUT A QUICK NOTE. IT HAS BEEN A BUSY SPRING AND SUMMER WHAT WITH ALL OF THE EVENTS GOING ON IN THE NORTHWEST AND ALL THE HOME RENOVATIONS I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON.
I CAN PROUDLY SAY I NOW HAVE STAIRS ON MY DECK AND A HOLE IN MY CEILING! THE HOLE ISN'T JUST A HOLE IT IS AN ATTIC ACCESS HATCH, WHICH STRANGLY MY HOUSE DID NOT HAVE UNTIL I PUT ONE IN JUST RECENTLY. THE PROJECT WENT MUCH BETTER THAN I EXPECTED, BUT I DID WIMP OUT AND DID NOT CUT THE CROSS BEAMS WHICH MEANS MY HATCH IS ONLY ABOUT 14 INCHES WIDE. OH WELL, I CAN GET UP THERE BUT ANYBODY WHO IS ANY BIGGER WOULD HAVE A ROUGH GO OF IT.
Tree Limbs and Puncture Wounds!
From the look of my lower legs and the the wound on my right forearm (very small wound, but I like to embellish for sympathy sake) you would think I just went a number of rounds with a UFC combatant or a weed whacker but no I was just pruning!!!!You see I have a motto...."If I didn't draw or lose some blood, then it was not a successful home renovation or repair". As I posted on my status this past week I had a fight with a pair of pruning shears and lost. They were in the front pocket of my cargo shorts and when I bent down to try and remove a stump-like piece of shrub, the "safety latch" must have let go and the sharp point poked through the pocket of my shorts. When I pulled on the stump-like thing my arm contacted the shears and skewered me. Blood was drawn and therefore I could cease the activity and call it a successful day of yard work!

No New Mattress for Me!
So Much for SLEEP.....
In my last blog posting, I spoke about going shopping for a new mattress after I get my tax refund (if I even get one this year) but after the long weekend and a GREAT deal on a Brand New car from Joey at McCarthy GM and with Sharalyn's help in arranging the financing, I spent most of the weekend in a Chevy Cobalt with Stacey driving! Yes we broke down and purchased a new car. Stacey doesn't like driving the truck because it is a large/small truck and the car fits her much better, she is a fairly small person (even smaller than me) so she feels more confident behind the wheel. In otherwords...stay off the sidewalks!!!!! Just kidding! Besides it's a kinda sporty 2 door with a spoiler and I am also very impressed with the ride and handling. The thing that really sold us on it was the smokin deal. Couldn't pass it up. So I guess if my back is sore after sleeping on our old mattress I could always sleep in the car, right? Don't get me wrong, I really like the car too, I'm just never going to get to drive it!
I did get a couple of things accompilshed over the weekend. Replaced a latch on my gate, put a door closer on my front screen door and changed the winter tires on my truck to the summer ones. Was sort of productive.
Unfortunately, Hazelton was not able to make the top 5 in Kraft Hockeyville, that title for the BC/Yukon region went to Cranbrook, BC. The ultimate winner for 2010 was Dundas, Ontario with just a little over a million votes. That number doesn't even approach the numbers posted by Terrace in the 2009 Hockeville Challenge. I hope Hazelton is going to give it another go next year...because we are with you!
Oh Yeah.... and just a reminder if you want that special edition Hockeyville 2009 DVD that takes you from the beginning of the Terrace is Hockeyville bid right to the win, then pick up your copy at the station 4625 Lazelle Ave, All Season Source for Sports or Gemma's or by cftktv.com. It's only $20 and all proceeds go to Astral Media's National Day of Caring for Kids Radiothon, helping out Children's charities accross Canada on April 29th. All the money that is raised in the Northwest stays in the Northwest.
That's all for now gotta run to a meeting! Talk Soon!
SUPPORT THE TROOPS!!!!
Remember to wear a RED SHIRT on FRIDAYS to show your support for the Canadian Troops around the world!
Here is your "THOUGHT FOR THE DAY".....
"IS DEJA FU THE FEELING THAT SOMEHOW, SOMEWHERE, YOU'VE BEEN KICKED IN THE HEAD LIKE THIS BEFORE?"
PONDER THAT ONE!
That's all for now!!!
If you have any suggestions or comments about the show...
